Last week was a whirlwind!  We arrived home from Mexico around 1am on Thursday morning, were home all of Thursday, and then headed out again on Friday afternoon for Birmingham.  It feels so nice to know that we’ll be home all this week!  Liz and Mark’s wedding was more than worth the whirlwind though and it was a great trip all around to Alabama! )  I know I say this every time but everyone really was absolutely wonderful – we just have the BEST clients!  Thank you Liz and Mark!  We hope you enjoy this little sneak peek of your wedding photos! )

I am so glad that we got to be a part of Priscila and Andy’s wedding!  They are a beautiful, exuberant couple with great friends and wonderful family.  It was the perfect combination for a fun wedding on the beach in Mexico!  Thank you guys so much for inviting us into your lives! )  

You may have noticed a trend on our blog lately – the kids in our life are growing up!  Our little niece is no exception.  I swear she’s changed every time we see her!  Ballet is her love at this point in her life so off we went the other day for a commemorative photo shoot! )  You are such a graceful, beautiful ballerina B!  Hope you all enjoy them!

For Mother’s Day weekend I went down to Chattanooga to spend the day with my grandmother.  I came home with two boxes of half-charred photo albums to try to salvage my family history from.  Lesson #1 – always back up your photos and store them somewhere safe!  In this digital age, it’s so easy – there’s no excuse!  Lesson #2 – I’m sure anyone reading this knows how valuable their family photos are to them, but do you realize how valuable photos of you will be to your kids and grandkids one day?  What I love most about engagement sessions is that through them, we have the opportunity to show future generations who that couple is and give them something they can relate to in the people who gave them life.  Whether they’ve known them for years and are getting to glimpse into a time in that person’s life that they didn’t get to witness, or they’re meeting them for the first time through photographs, we want to show as much as we can of that couple in the images we create.  

One day, Julie and Craig’s grandchildren will see their engagement images and maybe they will identify with their strong creative streak, or maybe they will admire their grandparents’ incredible sense of individualism.  I know that they will definitely be in awe of the connection these two people have and feel such happiness to get to see what they were like when they were just two kids, madly in love! )  

Speaking of family treasures, Julie had her favorite of her grandmother as a young woman made into a tattoo so that she would always be with her.  Very cool.

Photographing another photographer always brings extra pressure to a shoot, but when that photographer’s fiancee is one of Nashville’s most promising young wedding planners…well, let’s just say we had to pull out all the stops! ) We planned a little road trip with Kristin and Brian to an amazing waterfall for their engagement session!   We had so much fun!  These guys aren’t going to be able to get rid of us after their wedding!

It was so muddy from all the rain we’ve been getting but the upside is that everything is so green right now and the sun peeked through for us at just the right moment.

I’ve debated back and forth as to whether or not I should put this image on the blog.  I’m just not sure that the size is doing it justice but Sean’s says to roll with it so here it is…

Ah!  It was such an amazing place and there are so many great images!  How will we ever narrow it down??  Thanks Kristin and Brian!  Hope you all enjoy them! )
