Sean and Melanie McLellan are the internationally acclaimed husband and wife photography team behind McLellan Style. As artists, they are highly sought after throughout the world for their vivid and emotionally impactful imagery. They pride themselves on their ability to capture the beauty of a person’s essence and the style within.
We have way too many beautiful images to sort through from Whitney and Jon’s wedding last Saturday, but while we do that, I thought I’d go ahead and share a few from the bridal session. Whitney had a ceremony dress and a reception dress so she opted to have Jon join her for photos in the latter. I absolutely love the idea because we were able to get awesome images of the couple at their reception location that wouldn’t have been possible on the wedding day. So fun!

Phuket, Thailand is REALLY far away.
Having said that, Phuket is beautiful.
We photographed Priyanka & Mahesh’s amazing Indian wedding celebration over the course of four days and there is SO much to share! For now, I’ve picked out a small handful of favorites.
The wedding took place at the 5 star JW Marriott Resort & Spa, which Conde Naste Traveler has rated as one of the best places to stay in the world.
The resort was fantastic, and it’s located directly on Mai Khao beach.
I love this silhouette image from our first day shooting their engagement session on the beach.
I love this closeup of Priya & Mash.
Priya’s wedding dresses were absolutely beautiful. She mentioned that this dress weighs nearly 50 pounds!
Mel and I are known for our epic imagery and unique art featuring our couples; but lately we’ve been really striving to take our photojournalistic storytelling images to that same place. I am very happy with what we’re seeing this year; bringing our epic/artistic style and fusing it with photojournalism.
I was on the sidelines as they entered their retro party reception, and I love how the spotlight just cut through everything to only highlight them.
Mel was at the back of the stage as they entered… Her take on the same moment was amazing!

James and Lara’s official union had been 10 years in the making. All that anticipation, planning, and excitement culminated in a beautiful June celebration at Belle Meade Plantation in Nashville. It was a the kind of day that is full of emotion with lots of hugs and tears of joy — a personal favorite for Sean and mine. :0) Add in one gorgeous couple and an amazing team of wedding professionals led by Signature Events creating a seamlessly flawless event and we are set!
Branching Out did such a beautiful job with the flowers and Crumb de la Crumb’s cake looked just amazing!

For the featured moment of the evening, I have two favorites and since I mentioned all of the emotion, I thought this one was a must. Loving this tender moment between Lara and her dad.
And then I was so excited about this image of James as he lit a celebratory cigar, that I can’t do the blog post without it. Cigars make awesome photographs…

Friends and family flew in from all over the country. Truckloads of flowers were arranged with great care. A dream-team of some of the finest musicians in the world was assembled for just this one night. And the tiny island of Fishers prepared to celebrate with one of the families with whom it shares some of it’s longest and deepest ties.
After visiting, I am fairly certain there is no place quite like Fishers Island. Just off the coast of New York, the island is only 7 miles long and 1 mile wide. Everyone knows everyone and life on Fishers has clearly remained a very certain way for a very long time. It’s a beautiful relic of a by-gone era and where Annie has spent her summers as long as she can remember. It was the ideal setting for her marriage to Drew. The wedding took place in the charming little Episcopal church just off the town’s main drag. The guests then partied late into the night at the island’s exclusive golf club.
After the ceremony, we made a quick trek over to Race Point where Drew proposed last year. I love that this spot has now become a part of their wedding memories as well.
I was trying to think of what moment would be most representative of Annie and Drew’s wedding and what I kept coming back to was the dancing. The band really brought the house down.
Annie and Drew – we wish you many years of happiness together! You are tremendous people and we thank you so much for bringing us along to witness the fun, laughter and joy that made up your wedding day. Congratulations!

Two sweeter people there never were! We love Chrissa and Matt and shooting their wedding was such a treat. Laughter filled the air all day and night. From their beautiful ceremony at Christ the King Catholic Church, to their rocking reception at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, there were loved ones and joy everywhere you looked. Despite the overwhelming heat, it was a perfect day. Thank you Chrissa and Matt for opening yourselves up to us and allowing us to witness such tenderness and love. Here’s to you!
