WELCOME TO OUR BLOG, THANK YOU FOR VISITING!
Sean and Melanie McLellan are the internationally acclaimed husband and wife photography team behind McLellan Style. As artists, they are highly sought after throughout the world for their vivid and emotionally impactful imagery. They pride themselves on their ability to capture the beauty of a person’s essence and the style within.
It was session day for the Orth Family and 4 years earlier to the day, they were just Brandi and Mike, and we were photographing their wedding. It’s hard to believe it has been 4 years and that these two wonderful people have transformed into a wonderful family of three. Even with 4 years and lots of changes though, these guys are still so obviously crazy about each other – so much so that I would swear their engagement session was yesterday. That kind of love is such a beautiful thing! Their sweet baby girl just adds to it with her lively nature and adorable laugh. This little redhead really can’t get any cuter! Congratulations you guys – you’ve got the good life and witnessing it is such a joy for us. :0)

Janelle Grass:OMG! What a beautiful picture of this beautiful family! Kayla looks adorable... (2011-05-20 19:58:52)
Mel McLellan:Thanks you guys! Brandi and Mike - so glad you guys like them! And Mike - you just can't see all of the critters lurking in the field in these photos - that's why. ;) (2011-05-02 13:13:17)
esm:Precious! (2011-04-27 20:30:47)
Mike:I remember that field being a lot scarier than it looks :) (2011-04-26 12:28:45)
Brandi:Oh, I love it these! I can't wait to see the rest :) (2011-04-26 12:18:17)
Julie:i LOVE the last photo. so, so sweet!! (2011-04-26 07:49:09)
A portrait session in Antarctica?
Yes.
We’ve been holding off on posting these due to having been required to sign a confidentiality agreement. After a bit of back and forth negotiation, we’ve been allowed to share two of the images under the condition that we’re only allowed to use the couple’s first names, so as to help conceal their identity.
Getting to Antarctica isn’t easy. Nor is it inexpensive. Many of those ways involve being required to secure employment in various science related jobs. Luckily Angelina & Brad are rather well connected and we were able to skip past those methods and we sailed straight down on a boat they were able to borrow from friends. We brought Seven with us, and they also have SIX kids that all came along as well–that might sound crazy; but it was a very large boat and they played well together spending a lot of time entertaining themselves and watching humpback whales… and pieces of ice… and more humpback whales.
Many cruise ships only venture as far as the Antarctic Peninsula; but we were able to sail all the way into the southern Ross Sea.

Ok, enough of that. Let’s get to some images!
There are some images that we’re REALLY excited about; but unfortunately we aren’t allowed to share everything we wanted. Having said that, this is one we were allowed to share because it’s one of our large landscape images where Angelina & Brad are in the distance so you can’t really identify them by their faces.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this shot. Such gorgeous views, we just had to get them out on that ice and get some imagery featuring the location. The lines and curves of the ice were so fantastic–and they look so beautiful together. The weather was very harsh at this point in time, so they had to put on large thick white parkas to keep from freezing.

And here’s one more–the only closeup we were allowed to share. The wind really started blowing right before Mel got this image. The snow is obscuring their faces a bit–which is why we got this one approved–but I think it really adds to the artistic feel, anyway. And the emotion is just so powerful that it cuts through the snow obscured portions. Look at how they are looking into each other’s eyes. I don’t think any words I could write can say it any better than the passion and intensity you can just feel by looking at it.

So glad we were finally able to post these! Thank you for looking. To you and your family: Have a great April 1st!
Noelle McCoy:This is, without a doubt, the Single.Best.April.Fools.Joke.Ever. This is WINNING. =) (2011-04-07 20:48:59)

I’ve never seen kids grow so fast as they do now that we have our own. Violet is 7 months old and I would swear we were just taking her new born photos a few months ago! We had a rare warmer day in the middle of this dreary winter, so I met up with Violet and her parents for a fun little shoot around downtown Franklin. Check out this totally squeeze-worthy little Valentine! :0)
Gotta love the commitment to the foot-eating cause. ;0)
and my favorite family capture of the day.
