Sean and Melanie McLellan are the internationally acclaimed husband and wife photography team behind McLellan Style. As artists, they are highly sought after throughout the world for their vivid and emotionally impactful imagery. The trip had been 2 years in the making. Much planning and plotting had been done via g-chat, Sean and I burning the midnight oil while Gladys ordered lunch on the other side of the world. Our trip to China to photograph Gladys and Henry had been “in the future” for so long that it seemed hard to believe that it was actually happening a couple of weeks ago! And yet, roughly 25 hours after taking off from the Nashville airport, we found ourselves in Beijing with Seven and my best friend Rachel in tow. We finally got to meet the wonderful people we had had a running dialogue with for 2 years and they did not disappoint. It was an amazing trip and Gladys and Henry had us absolutely spoiled with their warmth and hospitality! I wasn’t sure what to expect from China, but I have to say I’m totally taken with it. The Great Wall is an amazing sight, and the residences of the old Emperors are just…wow! With our lovely couple there was no way the trip was going to be anything but a success! We’re so excited to work on the images! They are ah-mazing if I do say so myself! ;0) Gladys and Henry, you guys are spectacular! Thank you so much for having us and for being such gracious hosts! We can’t wait to see you again next year! Until then, here’s to lots more late night/mid-morning scheming to plan our next big adventure! :0)

We love photographing multiple couples within the same family and that’s why we were so excited to have Lauren and Ayal book us for their wedding – in addition to the fact that they’re awesome of course. :0) We photographed Lauren’s brother and sister-in-law’s wedding earlier this year and we just fell in love with their family! This past weekend, we flew up to Washington D.C. for Lauren and Ayal’s engagement session. We spent the afternoon running around the city, and then closed out the evening with Moroccan food and YouTube videos – the perfect day right? :0)

Amanda wanted an engagement session with Old South flair so we traipsed around the countryside to find the perfect southern settings! I love shooting in urban areas but rural shoots conjure up reminiscences from my childhood which makes them so fun and nostalgic! Amanda and Rory, you guys were great! Thanks so much! We met up with Ally and Glaydon and their sweet dog Brady last week for their engagement session. Having a dog running through the fields after his ball as you move from place to place just sets such a laid-back and comfy tone to a session! Add to that a gorgeous couple, the beautiful skies, perfect temperatures, and lush greenery and you’ve got the perfect shoot! Thanks Ally and Glaydon! :0)

There’s not much that gets cuter than these two! They both have the best laughs and they’re so sweet together. Lee, are you just loving this description? ;0) ha!
