Every couple’s lifetime spent together starts with the dating relationship. That’s why I love engagement sessions. It’s the documentation of the first chapter of a life together. One half of this particular couple is someone Sean and I have had the pleasure of knowing for quite some time. Michael was a dear friend in our high school days. A group of us spent the summer after our senior year going to movies and it was through Michael and his love of motion pictures, that I came to truly appreciate the artistic nature of films. He opened my eyes to the symbolism, the visual poetry, and all of the little stylized choices made by the directors that I had previously overlooked and I have never watched movies the same. Thanks Michael. :0) When Sean and I got engaged, Michael was one of the first people I called because I knew that I wanted his artistic eye for our wedding videography and even though it’s not really his thing, he graciously agreed to film it for us. That video is still today one of our most treasured possessions! We were so happy to reconnect all these years later and find Michael so completely in love with Greta, the most beautiful and sweet young woman you could ever meet! :0) Their wedding is sure to be absolutely precious and we count ourselves lucky to have been asked to be a part of it! Here are a few of my favorites from their engagement session, marking the end of our maternity leave and the kick-start of our journey into being both business people and parents. Wish us luck! ;0)

Jamie and Drew will be married this coming Wednesday and Drew made it back from Korea just in time! We were able to get these guys out for their engagement session today and it was great spending time with them both. :0) See you guys on Wednesday!

“Would you like another delicious cheesesteak, for free, sir?” “Um, yes” As we walked down the streets of New York City, David recounted the story of the easiest decision of his entire life… New York City. I’ve been to New York several times before. Not real New York, though–always just at the airport on the way to somewhere else. I have to say that our first real visit was fantastic. We had a wonderful time exploring the city the day before and the day after our shoot. And we had a blast with David and Omaira, photographing all over the city well into the night. Can’t wait to see you guys again at your wedding in Texas next year! Super excited about these images–and here is a sneak peak of what’s to come:
This one is going to make a phenomenal canvas!

Hanna look! It’s finally up! ;0) (So many blog posts to get to you fine folks in the coming weeks!) We went out with these gorgeous people last week for their engagement session and it was a blast! I love that we have clients whom we love spending time with! Now Hanna and Bobby’s post wouldn’t be complete without featuring their furbaby – Bella – isn’t she a mess?? Too cute! :0)
We got together just a little before sunset and then carried the session into the night which is always a fun change for us. The Shelby Street bridge in downtown Nashville is always a great spot for night images!
We cannot wait for the wedding next summer! Thanks Hanna and Bobby for being so wonderful and thanks everyone for looking! :0) | |
